Technical Data for
Ultra TUFF Non-Skid Coating

Ultra TUFF is a state of the art, WATER BASED, SINGLE PACK acrylic/urethane copolymer with recycled rubber crumb as an aggregate. This environmentally friendly coating is extremely durable and designed to adhere to most substrates with excellent abrasion and chemical resistance rendering them non-slip. Ultra TUFF contains no VOC's, is odorless and can be applied with a roller, low pressure spray gun or airless, Typical thickness is approximately 30-40 mils. See printable spec sheet. Also, See printable warranty.
Unlike epoxies Ultra TUFF is also very flexible making it chip and impact resistant. Ultra TUFF will handle wear from foot traffic to forklift and automotive traffic. Ultra TUFF is an air dry, air cure coating and is non-flammable. Available in 19 UV resistant colors (click here for a color chart)!

Application
Ultra TUFF in standard form can be rolled or sprayed on.  No expensive equipment or complex tools are required to apply the product. Use our special Ultra TUFF Foam Roller or Hopper Gun for best results. See the application manual for details. The application manual is in PDF format, and should be readable by any recent installation of Adobe Acrobat Reader, however, if you have any problems, please download and install the latest of version of Adobe Acrobat Reader (free).

Colors
Ultra TUFF is available in 19 standard colors.  Color matching is available in minimum batch sizes of 5 gallons at no extra charge.  See our Color Chart for specific colors available.

Pot and Shelf Life
Ultra TUFF has no pot life.  Ultra TUFF has a minimum shelf life of one year from manufacture.  Partly used cans of Ultra TUFF can be re-sealed for up to one year without damage to the product.  Dilution of Ultra TUFF must only be done with clean water.  DO NOT USE SOLVENTS OR THINNERS.  DO NOT LET FREEZE.

Curing
Ultra TUFF cures as a result of a cross linking process and evaporation and should, therefore, be touch dry in 30 minutes per coat (77°F & 50% humidity).  Light traffic is possible after 10-12 hours, hard dry in 24 hours, and a full cure will take 5-7 days.

Coverage
Pending final application requirements, it is recommended that Ultra TUFF is applied at a minimum of 40-50 sq. ft. per gallon for most non-heavy commercial applications, and 35 sq. ft. per gallon for heavy industrial applications.  The desired thickness is achieved in two coats for most non-heavy commercial applications and in three coats for heavy industrial applications.  These coverage estimates include the multiple coats necessary to achieve desired thickness.

Surface Preparation and Adhesion
As with all coatings, Ultra TUFF adhesion is dependent on the quality of the substrate and the preparation of the substrate.  All surfaces must be sound, dry, free of oil, wax, grease, and loose material.  Use the Ultra TUFF Application Manual as directed.

Equipment Cleanup
Clean equipment with hot or cold water.  Over-spray and application errors should be cleaned with a water damp cloth as soon as the error occurs.
